We recently found out that if you are looking for accommodations and search for bed and breakfasts in Johannesburg, Mi, you will not find our property. That’s quite disheartening. So, in an attempt to update some search algorithms and get some great SEO, we are trying something a bit unorthodox. Bear Lake Getaway in Johannesburg, Mi is the newly updated bed and breakfast located where the old Rodgers Roost used to be. Rodgers Roost B&B was a staple in the Johannesburg community for about twenty years. At our updated Bear Lake Getaway, we hope not only to meet the high standards that they set, but to exceed them.
We are centrally located in the northern part of lower Michigan. The area is known for its breathtaking scenery, gorgeous fall colors and many outdoor activities like skiing, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, golfing, kayaking, and hiking. We have approximately 100 feet of lake frontage, so if you love to sun and swim, we’ve got a spot for you!
There are many tourist destinations within a 90-minute drive from accommodations at Bear Lake Getaway like Charlevoix, Petoskey, Traverse City, Lewiston, Houghton Lake, Mackinac Bridge and Island, and Boyne City.
My husband, Chris, and I have a passion for serving. Chris worked a very physical job for more than 25 years, and it was taking a toll on his body. We were praying for an opportunity to still make an income while retiring Chris from his job. We always loved entertaining friends and family and felt like it was our gift. We were looking at purchasing a small restaurant when we heard about a former bed and breakfast that was for sale. We realized that we could combine our gifts of cooking and entertaining into one successful business.
My husband and I are intensely devoted to each other and are strong proponents of healthy marriages. Our mission is to help you decompress and renew your commitment to your marriage while you’re staying at their home/property. When you’re not visiting with your spouse, the bed and breakfast is a great retreat for small men’s or women’s groups; or for celebrating wins with your sales team. You will be welcomed and loved on during your stay.
