We’re so excited to share that we will have a soft opening of Bear Lake Getaway Bed and Breakfast in Johannesburg, Mi on Valentine’s Day weekend! We are doing all we can to get our home ready for a romantic weekend getaway if that’s what you’re planning.
Otherwise, the winter season is in its full glory here in northern Michigan. We have seen snowmobilers both on the local trails and on our Big Bear Lake. We’ve also seen ice fishermen set up on the frozen lake. If you like to cross-country ski or snowshoe, we can show you where to find trails near Gaylord or Lewiston.
The wildlife sightings have come to a near-halt over the winter here. We have found deer tracks on our property but have yet to see them in person. The ducks and loons took off when the lake froze over The eagles must be keeping warm elsewhere.
Chris is loving the winter here and has started cutting down some of the dead trees on the property. On days that are not so frigid, you will also find Chris burning the downed wood in the firepit.
